I’ve got an ultrasonic one, no app needed. It detects when you apply too much force, and if you do use the app - again, not needed - it can track your brushing habits and tell you when you’re missing spots. I would not have bought it without my employee discount, though. I think the $30 ultrasonic ones with no seriously fancy stuff are still good, though.

sonicare is the “OG brand” for sonic, its quite pricey, i went with offbrand one, it does the same with the fraction of the cost, plust it comes with 6-10 replacement heads. sonicare and oral-b only comes with 1 and you have to buy thier official or offbrand ones(which has questionable durability for the cheapest heads).

with oral-b, because i couldnt find a reliable off brand one i bought replacement heads for the official german rotating oral-b(its larger and it fits enough that it still works like the american ones, which was quite cheaper.

studies show that rotating and Sonic is superior to manual, besides manual ive seen people in thier reviews that they BRUSH way to harshely and then use things like whitening toothpaste, abrasive toothbrush and complain about thier teeth worst. sonic and rotating has sensors in case you are using too much pressure. like manual you dont want to brush too long anyways
