The photographer is apparently Christopher Katzarov with the Canadian press, according to what I saw on Reddit. (I live in Minneapolis, Reddit is kinda a necessary evil right now.)
Also found this one on a stock image site, seems to be same event and same photographer.
Four hours later, I just checked and it’s still up lol. Nobody say anything.
I’ve seen a few people with talons like this in Florida but most places it’s not practical or socially acceptable to wear flip flops for all occasions and year round. You’re not getting those things in normal shoes.
Fill it with something more appropriate and I think it’d be a neat Halloween party treat. Visually it turned out cursed in the best way.

Good news, yesterday it hit 40, everything melted, and today it’s all frozen for proper Minnesota winter next week where we’re supposed to be getting sub zero temps! I’ve never been this thrilled for shitty cold freeze thaw cycles.
