  • Well, I probably won’t. My employer has been around longer than the United States. Unless the bubble takes out civilization as we know it, we will probably ride it out.

They went through a pretty devastating financial loss about a quarter century ago. That was their existential crisis. It refocused management pretty forcefully on making sure they never have to have layoffs again. They may forget the lessons eventually, but I see no signs of it so far. They were still paying bonuses through the pandemic.

We also don’t have shareholders to appease which makes it easier.

  • We have a standard poodle. He’s being trained as a service dog, but he’s not there yet.

He’s getting better, but when he first arrived, he would bark like a maniac anytime someone new entered the house.

We had a painter come in to do some work in our bathroom. He got upset when he heard Leo start barking because he had a traumatic experience with a dog.

Then he saw Leo was a poodle and he was suddenly ok.

I know Leo is all talk, but he’s still a dog. Under all that fluff, he’s basically a Doberman Pinscher.

She suffers from severe depression and ADHD, but I don’t think she has bipolar disorder. Her sister died due to bipolar disorder, which might be what you’re thinking of.

She is, apparently, still on Reddit occasionally. I saw a post from a few days ago in which someone was saying that she’s working on a new book (no idea if that is true or not).

  • Song of the South. Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox, Brer Bear, etc.

A Disney movie that Disney doesn’t want anyone to remember because of the inherent racism. Using stories that originated during slavery, but setting the movie after the war to try to take the curse off.

It’s damn near impossible to get in the U.S., but easy to access via the high seas, and Disney uncharacteristically won’t go after you for it, because they don’t want to draw attention to it.

It incorporated some innovative techniques for blending live action with animation and has some value in terms of history of cinema. I don’t think it should disappear completely, but I do think it’s important to view it critically.

Personally, I found that apart from the racism, a lot of the writing and acting in the live action sequences was so absolutely terrible it was painful to watch.

  • For some reason the FBI lets him spend all his time doing that. (Kind of nepotism maybe?)

Nepotism definitely I thought. Wasn’t it established eventually that he was really the cigarette smoking man’s son? Or am I remembering a plot line that turned out to be another false lead?

I thought that’s who was protecting Him. Hindering his work certainly, and telling his co-conspirators that he was controlling him, but also manipulating them to keep him safe.

  • When I was a teenager, my mom made some baked pasta and brought it with a 2 liter Pepsi to me while I was working on stage crew at the high school.

I took it up to the spot light booth and ate it.

When I got home she asked me how everyone liked it. I told her I ate it all. She said she made enough for the entire stage crew. I told her she was wrong, it was only enough for me.

I hit 6’4" tall when I was 14. At my lowest weight at that height, I was 165 pounds.

I wish I had been taught to eat a single serving, wait, and then eat more if necessary. It wouldn’t have made a difference at the times when I needed to eat like twelve people, but it would have made it easier to stop eating like twelve when I didn’t need to.

However, I’ve had smaller adults try to tell my kids that they were eating too much. How can you meet me, get a pain in your neck from looking up at me, and still think you understand how much my kids need to eat?
