1·14 days agoLaws that aren’t enforced can be fought as unfair when enforced. Laws that aren’t held up in a court of law are no longer laws anymore.
Nice little imaginary world you’re living in there.
There’s laws on the books that makes it legal to shoot a thieving Native, do you seriously think you won’t be prosecuted if you do…? Just because a law exists, doesn’t mean it’s still “legal”. It has to be enforced.
Like jeeze know a little law before opening your yap next time.

1·14 days agoAnd speeding isn’t necessarily illegal either. Most cops won’t do anything until to go 15km over the limit.
So as I said, JUST as illegal, since it’s judgement calls in either situation.

2·14 days agoThere’s also speed minimums in most country’s.
And my comment was specially about the highway if you cared to read instead of bloviating about an unrelated situation ;)

21·15 days agoEvery country has similar laws, you understand this yeah? It’s not like America is unique in this lmfao.
There was also more than one point, but of course you would focus on one and try to discredit it, but you failed miserably. You also didn’t even quote the whole thing, which goes on to explain more restrictions that got universally. You’re just a bitter person aren’t you?
Example, the Uk
While there is no specific national minimum speed limit in the UK,
driving too slowly can be illegal if it is deemed to be inconsiderate, dangerous, or causes an obstruction to other road users. Police can penalize drivers for driving without due care and attention,
This is easily googleable, and every country has legislation you can look up. This isn’t that hard of concept to understand, if you cared to look past your own nose.

The replacement wouldn’t be the same dude, that’s the entire issue to being with and why they would never even entertain the idea to begin with. It’s gonna taste different. Full stop.
They know it’s an option, it’s just the worst one. You don’t seriously think you came up with some novel idea they haven’t mulled over before have you?

62·15 days agoAh yes, use an unknown potentially inferior product and lose your customers from the lack of quality and consistency.
There’s a reason they use single procurement, consistency.

1·15 days agoOther way around dude, roads are Congested from people already ignoring the highway since it’s going to be bad. Pick your poison.
And there is okay public transport, some people just prefer the “freedom” of driving. Even the best public transport isn’t going to make it across town in the same amount of time as a non-lighted highway. Too many stops.
You seem to have such a narrow view and understanding of the complexities of transportation and just want to bloviate about being anti car.
I’m leaving this conversation now, there’s no good that will come from trying to educate you, since you wouldn’t want to be, to set in your ignorance.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Wikipeter founded the website in 1993 when he wanted to know more about model trains without having to visit the library
5·16 days agoIt’s STILL like that. I’m sorry for explaining why they specifically do something.
You wouldn’t use the librarian as a source, but all the books she told you about can be listed. Then write what they said and see if they notice.
Same situation, different era.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Wikipeter founded the website in 1993 when he wanted to know more about model trains without having to visit the library
8·16 days agoWikipedia pages are synopsis’s and have a viewpoint of the person writing them. You use wiki like a library to find the sources to use and cite.
Why would they suggest and tell you how to “cheat” the system? If you’re not smart enough to realize Wikipedia isn’t a source itself, you are exactly why this lesson needs to be done lmfao.
Wiki would be like asking the librarian what the book is about, then using them as the source, you realize how silly this sounds now yeah?

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Wikipeter founded the website in 1993 when he wanted to know more about model trains without having to visit the library
11·16 days agoInstead of listing the source on wiki, why not just use hard link and avoid wiki to being with?
The point of the lesson is to hide your tracks or show that you’re not completely lazy. Would you just list “library” as a source? They don’t care you use wiki, they care you incorrectly listing sources.

3·17 days agoDriving to the conditions is also vague. Some people feel safe driving near the limit in snow, some think you have to go 40 under. Now that also depends on if you have snow tires or not too. If you don’t, you shouldn’t be trying to reach the limit unless the road is clear and dry. But even traction is reduced once it gets near freezing regardless.
In the end, it’s a judgment call, and pulling the person over is only ever going to make the situation worse. They won’t suddenly start going faster or find a different route the next day.
The video literally has someone pushing their bike. Op fucked up.
