they removed all their music from streaming services, but it’s available here: https://godspeedyoublackemperor.bandcamp.com/album/yanqui-u-x-o
Luciferian Towers is my jam, Anthem For No State III hits me hard in the catharsis every time.
FYI Bandcamp is owned by Epic (Of Unreal and Fortnite), but notable enshittification has not yet begun. The site still lets you play unpurchased audio in full (A certain number of times), offers DRM-free formats after purchase in perpetuity, shares 80-85% of music and merch sales with the artist, doesn’t nag you to use their app when you’re on their site, and runs several weekly radio shows spotlighting new releases.
There are also a handful of Fridays throughout the year when Bandcamp waives their cut and sends 100% to the artists. Next one is May 1st.
not 100% but close to that iirc
Recently bandcamp declared they prohibited all AI “music” on their platform. So, definitely they are one of the best platforms. Qobuz (French streaming service) also has an option to buy and download music. May be an option to support artists not presented on Bandcamp
Oh that is concerning, thanks for the information. But yeah, I didn’t realize anything different when I last week bought something compared to last time some years ago.
Oh. I didn’t know. Thanks for letting me know. Sounds like I gotta spin some of their vinyls.
GY!BE <3
one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen.
Afaik some physical versions of this album had nice printed charts that show how their publisher is connected to defense contractors.
I am not surprised they’re off streaming services.
My ex is into this. Super funny because she is the quintessential dog-mom white girl.
I’m really enjoying that motherfucker track.
not so strange imo
Perhaps not. Maybe just strange of me to assume things about people’s preferences
If anyone could get me into their Discord again that would be awesome. I threw myself out and realized their invite link had just been removed, so couldn’t get back in.
It was indispensable to know whether they are doing a show in my country or not.
I’ve got a nearly complete vinyl collection of their music. They usually come with pretty neat inserts.
