I can’t believe Truman and Nixon got ranked C and Eisenhower got an F. I mean Eisenhower slaughtered a lot of people and oversaw the US drop an unbelievable amount of explosives on people, but he at least recognised the evil he had unleashed and felt sorrow for what his legacy was.

Yeah but Eisenhower looks like a crazy person in his portrait, and Nixon looks intelligent. That’s all they were ranking it on.

Surely then GWB should rank higher, he’s actually smiling, and FDR looks like whatever soul he had has been crushed into oblivion

Eisenhower was a good president, relatively. Perhaps the last good republican.

Right? He was a president who came out of the military during WW2. Not sure what people expected, a conscientious objector? The times got what the times were, no other kind of person would have been elected so soon postwar. Heck, he even advised that gunhappy ass MacArthur not to get involved in the Bonus Army debacle and pushed back against McCarthyism. Eisenhower, as much as he could, wanted to rein in the MIC in his “Chance for Peace” speech. Balanced against any modern president’s failings and with his social and public works programs I think the vast majority of people would find it a relief to have a president like him today.

Truman was a schlub backwater senator who should never have been a contender for the primary but ended up robbing the US of George Wallace
