It is very common to be introspective on psychedelics. They suppress the default mode network (which is basically all of your filters and shortcuts your brain takes) so then your brain starts looking at patterns as if they are new again. This introspection can lead to life changes simply because without the day-to-day nonsense filling your head, you have space to consider what you can do better or what you can fix. You kinda have to be open to this idea and make a focused effort to engage. It’s best paired with therapy or close friends with intent. Otherwise, just doing psychedelics recreationally (because it is fun and feels great especially if you’re suffering from depression!) isn’t gonna fix anything.
