If the fish aren’t Muslim then perhaps that poster up there should not be advertising the movie night as “Halal” 🤭

      No you don’t get it.

Halal, most literally, means basically ‘approved’.

In this context, its essentially ‘Family Friendly’.

Inshallah basically means ‘Godwilling’, genuine, earnest hope that the family is reunited.

I wonder if anything is going on anywhere in the Muslim world where a story about a family being able to reunite would be a resonant and uplifting story.

Again, there’s nothing inherently forbidden about … non Muslims existing, and not particularly following all the rules that apply to Muslims… in the view of the vast majority of Muslims.

Most of the people in this thread are being bigotted by way of presumably ignorance.

And I’m a kafir, a dhimmi, an Atheist, who just likes to learn about different cultures and religions.

        And I’m a kafir

What has drinking formented yoghurt got to do with anything?

        No you don’t get it

Fucks sakes, it was a JOKE

Most of the people in this thread are being bigotted

If I am muslim I’m not. Do you yourself determine what I should take offence at?

And I bet somewhere some longbeards have genuinely debated if talking female cartoon animals are haram if they dont wear hijab.

I don’t think you know what… most of the words you are trying to use mean.

You made a bigotted ‘joke’, and are offended that someone has tried to explain why it is bigotted, even if it wasn’t intended that way.

Now you’re doubling down on your joke that only makes sense if you don’t know what you’re talking about and are relying on prominent stereotypes.

So you’ve now gone from ‘ignorant’ to ‘insistent’.

And yes, I do judge people by what they do and do not find offensive.

          Everyone does that.

I’m not … in charge of you, I’m not a mod or an admin, I just have opinions, views, things I know and believe.

You can see this as a lesson, and try to learn from it, or, you can see it as a personal attack.

I really don’t care either way.

Also, you say you’re Scottish, and ‘not very Jesusy’, so likely agnostic.

I am thus fairly dubious of your hypothetical that posits that you could be muslim, only about a 2% chance of that being the case.

            Right…

I am thus fairly dubious of your hypothetical that posits that you could be muslim, only about a 2% chance of that being the case.

            2% of 5 million isn’t 0.

            ‘not very Jesusy’

And which group of people ‘aren’t very Jesusy’…

I don’t think you know what… most of the words you are trying to use mean.

Oh do tell me what words you think I’m not using right. I love being schooled by white people.

            You made a bigotted ‘joke’

Again, I didn’t. Even if a non-muslim had made that joke, I still don’t get what would be offensive. Feel free to explain that one, seeing as you’re the expert in my faith.

And to be honest, someone trying to out-muslim me is what’s really offensive here.

I really don’t care either way

Bro, that diatribe you posted (and the research you’ve done on my comment history) would say otherwise.
