“Americano” got its name from US soldiers coming to France during World War 2. They didn’t like our coffee, it was too strong for them. So the French added water and named it “Americano” to mock Americans.
I am European, I do drink a lot of coffee and will happily crunch through a handful of beans… I also started just eating spoonfuls of instant coffee…its great… probably healthy?
At least we make real coffee instead of tea with coffee flavor
