I’ve said as much myself. You can get sushi in the Sahara. It’s about traditional cuisine. Now in my personal experience, food from its origin tends to be better than its foreign renditions. For example tacos from Oaxaca are likely better than tacos from a Nordic country. Sushi is probably better in Japan than in the Sahara and so on… not always, but usually.
Tldr tropical areas have more food sources than not tropical areas and coincidentally the cuisine from those areas is more vibrant.
