i hope they’re not E26 mount or any other light bulb standard, nor counterclockwise E26, since those work in hotel rooms

looks like several decades ago stealing the bulbs was a thing, so they were designed so if you stole them would be useless at home

To prevent people from stealing them. I’m pretty sure most places just have integrated LED fixtures nowadays.

It could be built to cause a short circuit, that would be beyond stupid and a breaker should prevent any serious damage.
