Wait, what?? Those are a thing?

I’ve seen some rechargeable smoke detectors but never had a reason to trust those. Everything else has used the old school 9v.

If only 9 volts were that price, I’d stock up for the smoke detectors for the next 5 years.

For everything else, I bought a bunch of rechargeable AA and AAAs a while back and those have been great. Haven’t used a D battery in years and a C battery for decades. I assumed they stopped making C’s.

This week was nice but we had one last week and one’s forecast for this coming week, though I don’t think it’s going to be as bad as the one we got first week of July.

Glad I got my PV system installed before the first one hit. A/C just feels cooler when it’s free 😎

Heatwaves notwithstanding, still prefer summer. I hate shoveling snow, I hate being cold, I hate that people deal with slick roads every year but still can’t learn to drive (or NOT drive) on them, etc. My only complaints about summer are the humidity and mosquitos.

I hear that. Ironically, I really appreciated the cloud cover when I was up on the roof two weeks ago installing my panel array. Those clouds were okay but now that I’m done, I’d appreciate if they only come out at night lol.

I used to drive a lot of 4-bangers and remember having to do that with pretty much every one of them either to overtake another vehicle or even sometimes driving up a steep hill lol. The air conditioning just sucked so much power from those little engines.

Been driving a hybrid for 6 or 7 years now, which also has a little 4-cylinder engine, but the electric motor more than makes up for that. It’s got a dash display showing the electric motor/ICE power split, and when you punch the gas, you can see the electric motor doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Love it.

Yeah, I should get one of those, lol, but I generally don’t need one since I do most of my work on the ground and near a table or bench or something. This is the first, and probably only, time I will ever be doing work on the roof. Plus, I was the only one home today so unless some religious proselytizers show up, no one would be in the fall zone.

If we go by the logic in some media where the ghosts are bound to the house/property, they probably don’t want to be stuck somewhere that will eventually just dissolve in the rain.

Weirdly, back in the dumb phone days, with T9 I could bang out texts way faster and more accurately so long as I wasn’t straying too far out of the dictionary. But it was super easy to add new words, and it would pick them up later.
