I took up running for a while. “Runners high” is a very misleading term because the only thing that feels good about running is being done running

My whole life I’ve wanted to be a runner but goddamn… Running is ass.

Maybe one day I’ll commit. Doubtful.

        Cycling is much more enjoyable.

Then you’ve never truly had a runners high. When I was occasionally running while I in my teens, I’ve had a feeling once or twice where you feel like you’re flying and feel like you can go on forever. That’s what “Runner’s high” is I believe

Yeah it’s an amazing feeling it happens when your body switches energy sources so you go from feeling tired to feeling completely rejuvenated in an instant

Once you get into it you get pretty addicted to it. Like I feel guilty if I haven’t run in a couple days. And running after a stressful day of work is like magic for making the tension go away. In the summer my runs are also trail runs so that makes it a lot better.

I ran 3 miles a day for 3 months trying to get that addiction. I hated every minute of it. Finally gave it up.

Every day?! I’m not a huge fan of streak running. I’ve only done 2 6 mile runs this week and they both felt pretty good. First one was more a decompression run, my heart rate was too high. Second was a proper zone 2 workout and I actually feel like I have more energy afterwards.
